Halcyon String Quartet presents Burt Dow, Deep-Water Man Saturday, April 9, at 7:00pm

Narrated by Ben Meader, the performance features projections of McCloskey’s iconic artwork alongside Halcyon’s arrangements of musical favorites Beyond the Sea, Baby Beluga, Down by the Bay, and Fly Me to the Moon among many others. The show is appropriate for all ages.
In addition to programming at The Waldo, the quartet will host a free story hour at the Waldoboro Public Library on Saturday, April 9, at 10AM. The hour will include narration, music, and an interactive introduction to string instruments. “We could not be more excited to put together this show,” says Halcyon violinist Sophie Davis. “Collaborating with so many people on this project has felt like one big celebration of our maritime culture and heritage, it's an opportunity to combine beautiful artwork, humor, childhood songs, and really, just a chance to tell a classic story!”
Tickets to Saturday’s performance are $15 in advance or $20 at the door with $5 tickets for those under the age of 17. To purchase tickets, visit waldotheatre.org.
Halcyon is a string quartet based in Midcoast Maine that combines music with art, science, and storytelling, to cultivate environmental stewardship and celebrate Maine’s cultural and environmental heritage. For more information about Halcyon visit halcyonstringquartet.org.
