The reading and discussion group meets
at 7, usually on the 4th Monday of the month, at the Library. New
participants are welcome.
Children's
Programs:
Sat., April 26 at 12:30 p.m., Children's author Mary-Anne Flavin will
read and talk about her book, a true story called Zenith's Great
Gift.
Sat., May 24, at 12:30 p.m. Noted local children's
author and book illustrator Chris Van Dusen will present a program for
children of all ages, demonstrating his techniques. Van Dusen
illustrates the
Mercy Watson series and has written and
illustrated several books of his own: the Mr.
Magee series and If I Built a Car.
Watch Library advertising or call for information about future special
programs, including a visit by
children's authors/illustrator Melissa Sweet, who has over 100 books to
her credit and will share her latest, Tupelo
Rides the Rails
*Summer Reading:*
The Summer Reading Program for elementary school-age children will be on
the theme:
"Catch the Reading Bug." There will be weekly meetings for five weeks
during July and August. Some very special events are planned. Watch our advertising or call the Library for
more information and to register your children.
*Story Hour:*
Story hour for preschoolers will continue on the first and third
Wednesdays of the month at 10 a.m. Watch for ads regarding a summer
schedule.

Genealogy Workshops
by Maine
historian Randall Gross
Second Monday of every month (except holidays),
from 5:30 to 7:00 at the Library. Come learn how to research your own
family, aspects of town history, or Maine's involvement in wider
historical events such as the Civil War.
