OUR GOAL Our goal is stated in the Long Term Plan approved by the Board of Trustees in July, 1999: The Waldoboro Public Library will be known for its patron service and ability to provide what its patrons need for library materials. WALDOBORO PUBLIC LIBRARY'S CODE OF SERVICE Our promise to our patrons: •polite, knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful service from well-trained staff. •the direction or assistance you need to fully benefit from library services. •confidentiality about your library use within the confines of the law. •a wide range of materials available on site, and interlibrary loan service for items available elsewhere. •information provided quickly and accurately, and referrals provided to other sources outside the library when appropriate. •courteous and timely response to telephone and email inquiries. Trustees are residents of Waldoboro who represent the thinking of the community regarding the goals for the library. The trustees are advocates for library funding and community support. The Board of Trustees supports the principles which have guided public library service through the years--the principles of equity, open and affordable access, patron privacy, First Amendment rights, and easy access to electronic information. 2024 BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING SCHEDULE The Board of Trustees for the Waldoboro Public Library Association meets on the second Thursday of every month except August. The meetings are at 5:00 p.m. at the library. Any interested member of the public is welcome to attend. The meeting schedule for 2024 is as follows: January 11 February 8 March 14 April 11 May 9 June 13 July 11 No meeting in August September 12 October 10 November 14 December 12 In case of bad weather or if you have any questions, please call the Library at 832-4484. VOLUNTEERING We depend on our volunteers for being able to provide you with the services available at the Library.
