Friends of the Library Speaker Series - 2024
We are delighted to announce that the Friends’ Speaker Series is back! All programs are free and open to the public. Here is the lineup for this winter and spring.
January 20, 1:30 PM - Julie Selbo, award-winning screenwriter and author of three mysteries. Julie will read from her newest mystery set in Portland with a female private eye.
February 17, 1:30 PM - Deborah Gould, award-winning author of four novels. Telling Your Story – a conversation with Deborah about writing and publishing. Come with your questions.
March 16, 1:30 PM -Tom Roth, 25-year columnist for The Maine Sportsman and author of A Sporting Year in Maine. Just as winter gets wearing, come hear about outdoor sports for every season in Maine.
April 24, 5:30 PM- Sue Perkins, science teacher and shark expert. Sue will present Respect the Locals, a program about great white sharks in the Gulf of Maine
May 15, 5:30 PM- Gary Rainford, author of three poetry collections. A year-round resident of Swan’s Island, Gary will read from his poetry. Joining Gary will be author and librarian, Jennifer Dupree. Jennifer will read from her novel, The Miraculous Flight of Owen Leach.
